The first Turkish electric car TOGG will be launched in 2022

Turkey plans to build an electric car to be manufactured in Turkey as part of a national electric car project in 2022. The two planned models, the SUV and the sedan, will have a range of 500 kilometers. The Italian company Pininfarina is committed to build as well as design. The TOGG is built with a lithium-ion battery and provides energy for over 300 or more than 500 kilometers after a DC charge of approx. 30 minutes. Furthermore, the TOGG can also be charged via the household socket in ten hours. Two engine variations and all-wheel drive are planned. For the construction of the Turkish car, five companies (Anadolu Group, BMC, Kıraça Holding, Turkcell and Zorlu Holding = TOGG) have come together to form a joint venture. The managing director is a former Bosch manager. Turkey has a large auto industry with many foreign manufacturers operating its factories and will create hundreds of new workstations with the local auto production.
