End of the year: We are optimistic about the future

2020 is drawing to a close and unless you are in the disinfectant or mask business, you will probably not shed any tears over this year.

So let's look ahead and look forward to positive prospects: A vaccine is available, the travel agencies and airlines are already seeing a sharp rise in demand and we are also planning international partner meetings again soon, e.g. we will meet in Cape Town in November 2021.

We are also very pleased about the strong demand for investments in our greater Saar-Lor-Lux region: INEOS has taken over the Daimler plant in Hambach (France) and will build their Grenadier 4x4 off-roader there in the future. The Chinese company SVOLT will build a large factory near Saarbrücken (Germany) for the production of batteries for e-mobility and the Norwegian REC Group is also building a photovoltaic plant in Hambach with more than 1,300 jobs. All in all, this means a clear impetus for business activities in our region.

So the prospects could not be better at the moment and even if we know that it will take a while for all of this to materialize, the belief in so much better times to come gives us the strength to hold out a little longer.

With this in mind, we wish you a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2021. Thank you for staying with us.

Yours faithfully,
Prof. Peter Anterist
