Chinese Enterprises Embark on Global Expansion: Seminar on Investing in the Future 2024

The burgeoning trend of Chinese enterprises expanding overseas has become increasingly apparent in recent years. Serving as co-organizers, InterGest-China hosted the "2024 Invest in the Future" Seminar in Shanghai, China, on January 22nd, 2024. Collaborating partners included the World Federation of Free Trade Zones, the Shanghai Information Service Outsourcing Development Center, and multiple industrial associations.

Data sourced from the Ministry of Commerce and the Administration of Foreign Exchange of the P.R. China underscores the magnitude of this trend. In 2022, China's outbound direct investment totaled US $163.12 billion, securing the country's position as the world's second-largest investor. By the close of 2022, China's foreign direct investment stock had reached an impressive US $2.75 trillion, consistently ranking within the top three globally for six consecutive years. The upward trajectory continued into 2023, with outbound direct investment flows reaching US $123.9 billion from January to October, marking a 5.4% increase year-on-year.

One focal point of the "2024 Invest in the Future" Seminar was a keynote address delivered by Mr. Sam Yuan, Managing Director of InterGest China, entitled "Guidance on Selecting Service Providers for Enterprises Expanding Abroad." In his speech, Mr. Yuan elucidated the challenges faced by Chinese companies venturing abroad, drawing from successful case studies within InterGest's portfolio.

Notable figures such as Prof. Peter Anterist, CEO of InterGest Worldwide, and Mr. Nils Blunck, Managing Director of InterGest Worldwide & Partner in Hungary, conveyed their well-wishes through video messages broadcast during the seminar.

The event attracted approximately 300 Chinese entrepreneurs, alongside representatives from the Consulate in Shanghai and various industry associations. Leveraging social media platforms including TikTok, Tencent Video, and WeChat Video, the seminar was livestreamed to a broader audience, with related coverage disseminated across Chinese media outlets in multiple countries.

Discussions during the seminar encompassed a spectrum of topics, including the prerequisites for Chinese companies venturing abroad, anticipatory measures to mitigate challenges post-expansion, and the sharing of success stories and forecasts in overseas investments.

As Chinese enterprises set sail for international markets, the global network of InterGest Group stands poised to facilitate a secure, dynamic, and prosperous journey for these ventures.
